UL Masters student Gregg Griffin was accepted to present at the 2023 Association for Popular Music Education Annual Conference (AMER) in New Orleans May 31-June 3, 2023.
UL Masters student Gregg Griffin presented alongside me at the 2022 Educators Rising State Conference. The prevention was on was developing new leaders and pathways in Louisiana music education.
UL Undergraduate student Pearce Martin won a residency in 2022 for the 10th Annual Music Technology Leadership Academy (MTLA) sponsored by NAMM and TI:ME. The select group of undergraduate and graduate students who participated and completed the month-long activities received a package of music hardware and software provided by the music industry, the TI:ME organization, and the NAMM Foundation grant.
Danni Gilbert (Ph.D. University of Nebraska - Lincoln) published her paper The Framework for 21st Century Learning: A First-rate Foundation for Music Performance Assessment and Teacher Evaluation in Arts Education Policy Review (2016) which was a paper completed for my Doctoral Seminar: Policy in Music.
I advised Stephen R. Brown (MME Kent State) who completed this paper as his capstone project. It was the model student sample for the Kent State Online MME Program for full research projects until change to APA 7th. Such projects are completed within one semester.
I advised Stephanie Pekah (MME Kent State) who completed this paper as her capstone research project. Such projects are completed within one semester. This project demonstrates my guiding a student in research on culturally sustaining music pedagogy.
